Agricultural Heritage Plaques

Fruit-and-blossom plaques set into downtown sidewalks in 1992 to recall the orchards.

The plaques were installed in 1992 as part of the downtown streetscape project. Six fruits were chosen from dozens grown in the early years: French Prune, Bartlett Pear, Blenheim Apricot, Payne Walnut, Jordanola Almond and Bing Cherry.

Individual plaques are set in the sidewalk along Campbell Avenue from Railway Avenue to Third Street, with full sets at Ainsley Park and on the library wall.
