In 1962 fourteen boys aged 11 and 12 from Moreland won the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, with Ted Campbell pitching a no-hitter in the final. They remain the only Northern California winners.
Campbell Little League reached the final in 1970, 1976 and 1979, and Campbell-system teams reached fourteen World Series between 1960 and 1987, the story of Chuck Hildebrand’s book The Last Baseball Town.
